Background

On July 20, 2008, a tragic accident forever altered the life of Claire Stewart, a 15 year old sophomore at Alpharetta High School and a resident of the Bluffs in Windward.  A motorcycle accident left Claire with critical brain injury and several broken bones.  In fact, she was lucky to have survived. Immediately following the accident, Claire received treatment at North Fulton Trauma unit in Roswell.  She was later moved to Shepherd’s Center in Atlanta to begin the long process of recovery, a process that will include extensive physical and speech therapy.

The care Claire needs to return to a full and active life is prohibitively expensive.  In an effort to help defray these costs, Claire’s Challenge, a 5K/1K Fun Run has been organized.  Claire’s Challenge was held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 in the Windward community.

We welcome you to watch Claire’s progress and sign her guestbook by visiting http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/clairestewart. If you are wondering how you can can continue to help the Stewart Family, please go to our "How Can I Help" section of this website for more information.
